Spinne
A performance by Kristin Bauer, 2022
Spinne is a ritual/performance piece that synthesizes embodied gestural movement, constructed sound and channeled collective presence in exploration of manifested archetypal mythology. Exploring the shadow symbolism of the spider, creation and destruction, and weaving/web-spinning as metaphor and depth meditation, the artist enacts spinne in weaving caution tape across the unfinished basement eaves and crevices.
Atmospheric sound created by Baurer amplifies through the underground space, adapting chords of Danzig’s “Mother” composed through slow droning synthesizer and noise filters.
